Glory For Who?

Most people want control because most people want credit. If you have control, then you can have the credit. But when you let go and relinquish control, you are acknowledging what is already true — God controls it all. He is sovereign over everything.
Relinquishing control gives Him glory. Keeping control gives you credit and opens the door for pride. We were not designed to handle glory. We are in the wrong body for glory. Our flesh can’t handle glory; it can barely handle praise. Scripture gives many accounts showing that too much power, glory, or praise led to a person’s downfall
King Saul - Rejected God’s commands and acted out of arrogance, leading to God rejecting him as king.
King Uzziah - Became proud in his strength and unlawfully entered the temple; God struck him with leprosy.
King Nebuchadnezzar - Boasted in his own power and kingdom; God humbles him until he acknowledges God’s sovereignty.
God humbles the proud and lifts up the humble.
“Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” Proverbs 11:2, NLT
“And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’” James 4:6, NLT
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” James 4:10, NLT
“So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.” 1 Peter 5:6, NLT
God is preparing glory for you, but not yet — not while you’re here on earth. Be patient. Trust in God’s sovereignty. Give God the glory now, and He will give it to you in eternity.
“Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later…
And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.” Romans 8:18, 23, NLT
Let’s remember and pray the words of Paul: “glory to God” — now and forever.
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20, NLT
